Hi All, and welcome to the Redway ride community section.

My name is David Howe and I am the Redway Category Manager. Including myself, we are a team of three ride leaders: Keith Masters and Liz Barroeta.

We regularly host the rides on Tuesday evenings, departing from the BCG meeting place in Broughton. Rides are typically posted on the Friday/Saturday prior and are around 17-18 miles in length, at an average speed around 10-11 mph. They are intended to be friendly, gentle rides in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, largely away from the traffic. But we do of course share the redways with others also out to enjoy the evening, so often need to give a friendly 'hello' to our fellow joggers and walkers!

Occasionally we post other redway rides up, but these are quite rare. As a team we would like to offer other rides during the week, but are restricted because there are only three of us. So if you are interested in becoming an assistant or even a ride leader, that would be most welcome - and please get in touch!

If you have any thoughts, comments, suggestions, we look forward to hearing them!

David, Keith and Liz.

Hello Folks. I’m posting this request at Ann’s suggestion. I am a complete novice and have recently undergone knee surgery before which I was a keen runner wit’s the Redway Runners. (I’m sure I would’ve been in your way on occasion) Running is probably out of the question for me now and cycling has been recommended to me as and ideal way to help with my recovery. However, I would find even these gentler rides of around 10 to15 miles extremely difficult. I wonder if anyone ever does any shorter jaunts of around 5 miles. I would be keen to join in and hopefully after a few rides would be more capable of the longer distances.
