Samaritans Cycle Sportive - HWCC

Chiltern Samaritans, in association with High Wycombe Cycling Club, is pleased to announce its 2018 Charity Cycling Sportive which will be taking place on June 30th 2018. It’s going to start and end in West Wycombe, in the grounds of West Wycombe Estate, and we would really appreciate your help in publicising the event. This will be the second time we have organised the event. Last year we attracted 420 cyclists and we hope to get even more this time. We’d really like to get this message to your members to encourage them to take part. Ours is a very worthwhile cause, supporting over 35000 calls a year with people in distress. Our branch needs to raise about £30,000 a year to keep going and these rides will be a significant contributor.

We also believe this is simply the best value Cycling Sportive in the Chilterns:

- Free Bacon butty and cuppa to start

- Delicious home baked fare at the feed stations

- Free gourmet burger and Malt the Brewery beer at the finish

- Shiny medal

- Tagged/timed ride

- Glorious routes.

The 25 mile ride will cost £15 and the 50 and 80 mile routes are £30. To register for the ride please point participants to:

Wow, so many events coming up. I better let Mrs Bull know she won't be seeing me for a while! 😉

As this happened just a day after the new webiste launch it seemed only right for it to be the first post here. Ive shamelessly cut and pasted @Ann Shrimptons post here as it effectively sums up what made this a great ride and a big part of what bcg is all about😎😎😎 ....over to Ann now: Amazing commitment and effort from 30 C+ riders (including a few converts from A & B+) for braving what can only be called miserable conditions for 143 miles of road, laughs, scenery, cake, jelly babies, derailleur problems, hills, flapjack, fast peloton riding, and lots of group comradarie and support to each other. You guys are all amazing - 😋💕💕 and super thanks to our superheroes in the support cars Rick Vernon Natalie Parkinson & Jerry 🙏🙏 Ready to do it all again next year?
